The magic that goes on at 2am at RESOBOX (SNEAK PEEK)

Belive it or not this is only about 85-90% finished they still had more to set up!!    This was 70 hours of work with just 4 people helping string, price, tag, and hang.

Seeing all the Ami's together is so amazing, everyone is putting in alot of work over at RESOBOX.  I still havent spotted any of my little guys but seeing everyone's work together mine where on the small side, and this is just a small corner of the room so mine might not have been in the shot at all but if you think you see one yell and let me know!!

I have finished 51 diffrent amigurumi in assorted unicorns, bunnies, and chibi cthulhu's.  I went up and delivered them all today so the stress of 'finishing' is over.  All in all I was able to make 14 Unicorns, 17 chibi cthulhu's, and 20 Bunbuns (4 of which are Skel-o-Bunbuns).

I took group shots of what I still had left to deliver but some how lost the group shot of unicorns and since I already dropped them off I cant take an other.  I will try to get a shot of the display they put them on this weekend when I go out to the Missouri Botanical Gardens Japanese Festival.  

I cant wait, I realy do hope they sell well and people like them.

 These bunnies just wanted to pile up and be unruly.  It was like bowling only with out a bowling ball the bunnies would just all decided to fall over randomly.  So their group shot is a Pile-o-Bunbuns.

Now the Chibi Cthulhu's on the other hand where more then happy to stand up and even stay in formation for their photo op.  Nothing beats a murder of Cthulhus.  Any idea what the plural for Cthulhu is?  I know a Murder is a flock of crows but I like the term for this grouping of Cthulhus.

Onigiri!

So I have been wanting to make one of these little cuties for a while now and I keep putting it off to do other things.  

Well tonight was that same day.  personaly I think for working at 1am its not to shabby for a first attempt.

Heres what I did
 In white yarn

then finish off by stuffing and weaving the tail back and forth in the last few stitches to sew it shut.

In black yarn
chain 7
Sc in second chain from hook and across (6 st)
sc back and forth for 12 rows leaving long tail.

Your white piece should have a slight cone shape so you will be using that long tail to shape your Onigiri.  Position the nori (black rectangle) on the 4th row from the close, lining up the other end on the other side also on the 4th row and sew it in place.  Try not to over tighten, but pull it tight enough to shape it into a Onigiri ball, if you don't know what that is its a triangle shaped rice ball popular in Japan often with something pickled or salted inside. From here you get to decide on what type of eyes or no eyes at all.  I went with the  > < eyes because he knows he is going to be eaten.  I think I will make more when I am not dead tired.
