Trying out something new....

So I am doing some more tunisian crochet.  This time I am also working on a tapestry like stitching, while carrying the none working strand.

This will be a christmas present for one of the guys I game with on Sundays.  It will be turned into a dice bag as soon as I finish up the back piece.  You can see at the bottom of the pic where I picked up the bottom stitchs to start the back.

I think when I did my color changes I tightened it up way to much as the section where I start color changing the piece gets narrower even tough I keep my stitch count even. After the last row with color changes it started to  flare out again so I will have to keep that in mind for the next time I do a tapestry style item.

Oh also, the front ie skull side is done in the tunisian knit stitch.  I choose to do it that way to make the 'teeth' portion look neater.  I am just doing the back in a normal tunisian stitch.  I plan on finishing it with a row of ribbing  around the top with a draw string closure.

Dragon Egg (Dice Bag)

So I am gearing up for a convention that is in June.  I want to make a few dice bag's because it is a gaming convention.  This is one of the ideas I have come up with it is suppost to look like a dragon egg playing on popular shows like Game of Thrones and of course How to Train a Dragon.

I made it up as I went, I made the base of a circular sc, then made the under structure out of all DC, making the scales by skipping 2 dc and working the scale over the next to posts.

I have no idea how well this will go over or how much I will want to charge for it.  I am thinking of asking $15-20, I put in over 8 hours and would be so disappointed if no one was even interested.

I think the next Dice bag I work up might be a BaBomb I am just unsure how I will make the top look right and not like a black bag with a gray drawstring.  I might also work up some Police Box Dice Bags as well but that depends on if I can get toner for my printer.

Completed Crochet Dice!!! FINALY

I finally finished my set!  There will be no D20 because I wouldn't have a way to make it to the scale of the other dice sadly. Left to Right and Top to Bottom - D12, D10, D8, D6, and D4.  Because these are soft and have more of a rounded edge they dont all 'roll'  but if you toss them up they have a random drop thats the same as a rolled dice, you just have to make sure to 'flip' the D10 like its a coin or toss it while holding it sideways.

I belive the D10 was my hardest shape to work out but I am proud of how they all turned out!

Seriously.  Took me a few tries to get the shape correct times 10, and sewing them all together was a bit harder then doing up the D12.  Stabbed myself with a darning needle a few times trying to get the top and bottoms sewn up with out lossing the over all shape.

This one doesn't 'roll' easily but it lands face up when tossed straight up.  Then again I don't think an actual D10 rolls well at all so it might not be a fault on my end and just an over all aspect of the shape.

So I have 4/6th of a complete set done!  Still dreading the D20, and procrastinating on the D6.  so far I have put 6 day's worth of work into making these little  or rather 'big' crochet dice.  Debating on if I will sell it all as a set or let them go individually at the con.

More Crochet Dice

Left to Right: D8, D12, D4

So I have got the nack down for making D4 and D8 although I think the D8 looks a little frumpy.  They all roll well, landing on a face side up every time. Took me two days to make and piece the D12, and a day a piece for the D8 and D4.

I wonder if I put my patterns up for sale for like $2 for a pdf/video if anyone would be interested?
 I only have the three made so far, though I could easily make a D20 it just seems very daunting it would probably take a day alone to piece it together and possibly 2 days to make and number the sides. I plan on doing a D6 next it should be the easiest pattern to make. 
I do think the hardest pattern I will have to fumble threw making is the D10 I have a working idea for it but it will have to wait till I can try and assemble it to see if it will work like a D10 should.
